Realistic Representation
My art is representational; it looks real. It's natural, playful, and occasionally whimsical. Sometimes I will use an acrylic pour as a background and then paint my subject on that, as demonstrated in "Friends Forever" below.

I paint on canvas and occasionally wood. Paintings are typically gallery wrapped and ready for display or can be framed. Giclée reproductions (high quality reproductions printed on canvas) of selected pieces of original artwork are also available. Commissioned paintings of your favorite subject can also be created.

All of my artwork is available as prints or note cards. Prints are matted in 8x10, 11x14, or 16x20 sizes. Artwork is printed on gallery-quality, soft-gloss photo paper. Mats include a backing board and cellophane sleeve and are suitable for display or framing. Please contact us for additional information and pricing.

My portraits are done in oils and are based on one or more photographs of the subject.. They can be traditional or can include personal touches like in Leon the Great above. Please contact me if you are interested in commissioning a portrait.

My Background
I was born in a displaced persons camp after my parents were forced to flee from their home in what is now Slovakia. We were eventually resettled into war-torn Germany where my early childhood memories were of being cold and hungry.
When I was 8 years old, we emigrated to the USA. I always enjoyed drawing and my father, seeing my potential, took me to an art store where he bought me my first real supplies: oil paints, watercolors, drawing pencils, paper, and canvases. I was thrilled and knew I had found my passion.
I grew up on Long Island and later moved to Connecticut where I spent over 30 years in the public school system teaching elementary, middle and high school students. I currently live in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

I use different mediums and have used my creations in various ways - including printing on silk scarves, prints of original paintings(framed and unframed), note cards, and commissioned portraits and paintings..

My family, friends, and surroundings influence my work. I never know what the next project will be but I do love bringing nature into my work - especially flowers, birds, ocean life, and animals.
